Today

Their day, at a glance

Screen time, when they started and stopped, the apps they used, and a simple timeline of the day — for each child.

Screen time counts only when a child is actually using the computer. Idle and locked time don’t count, and two computers at once count once.
Activity and pictures

See what was really on the screen

Every app and window name, in order. If you turn pictures on, DTEX Family also takes pictures of the screen now and then, so you can see what a moment actually looked like.

Pictures are encrypted and kept for 7, 14 or 30 days — you choose. They’re never taken on parents’ accounts, or while the computer is idle, locked or paused.
Playback

Watch the day back like a video

Step through the pictures of a day with a simple slider. Coloured marks show which app was open, so you can jump straight to the moment you care about.

Ask AI

Ask questions in plain English

Ask “What did Sam do after school?” or “Did anyone talk about meeting up?” DTEX AI answers in a few sentences and links to the exact moments, so you can see for yourself.

Notifications

A heads-up when something needs you

DTEX AI checks window names and pictures for the risks you chose — such as someone asking for photos, asking to keep secrets, asking to meet up, or bullying. You get a notification marked urgent, important or for your information.

  • Describes what appeared on screen — never judges your child
  • You choose the checks for each age group, starting from DTEX’s recommendation
AI checks start only after you agree to them, and only look at activity recorded after that.
Daily stories

A short story of each child’s day

Open DTEX Family and read a few friendly sentences about each child’s day — with a question or two you could ask them at dinner.

Ask a parent

They ask. You answer, from anywhere.

From the DTEX Family shield on their computer, your child can ask for more time, a website or an app, and say why. You see it straight away and choose Say yes or Not now, with a note if you like.

Ask a parent works on Windows and Linux today. It’s on the way for Mac.
Your settings

You decide what’s recorded

Record apps only, or pictures too. Choose how often pictures are taken, the hours they’re taken, apps that never get pictures, and how long pictures are kept. When a change affects your child, their computer tells them.

Family

Made for the whole family

Add each child with a photo and a cover picture. Invite a co-parent, and choose whether they can change settings or just see and answer. Shared computer? Your children pick their name when they sign in.

Names, times and pictures on this site are illustrative.

On the way

These aren’t available yet. We’ll add them carefully, and tell you and your children when they arrive.
